If memory serves me well, today is the birthday of a very special fellow. His name is Henry Goldrich, and I've had the pleasure of knowing him since I was 16 - when I bought my first "quality" electric from him in the old store (it was a Guild Starfire Emerald III)... he was a mench then, and he's still not only a mench - he's a hero - an urban legend - and my friend!
I remember when I first started going to the now infamous Golf Tournaments - not being a golfer - or more to the point, a terrible golfer, I asked him if I could attend the next year's event as photographer. He agreed, and even offered to buy the film (to which I said something like "Oh Henry, that's very kind of you, but the least I could do is supply that")...
Whadda guy!
Happiest of 79th Birthdays, and may it be the best one yet.
