You sold me my first guitar, a Guild Starfire, approximately 45 years ago. The guitar is long gone, sold by me to David Reiff, noted intellectual now, but an impossibly bright high school kid at the time.
I'm sure you don't remember the sale, as since then you must have sold hundreds, if not thousands of guitars to people much better known than myself. I was just another teenage kid who would haunt Manny's, mostly to gawk, only occasionally to buy. I might look vaguely familiar- most likely not.
And truth be told the Starfire was only the first of many guitar transactions for me too. I currently own about 20 instruments. I've performed all over the world, played on a handful of hit records as well as jingles, film scores and the like. I've also written production music used as background on scores of TV shows. I continue to stay active as an engineer, producer and musician. I'm one of those guys whose music you have undoubtedly heard, but you probably don't know it. I've been a working musician for a lifetime now and loved every minute of it.
In a very real sense that Guild guitar was the start of my life in music. Thanks for selling it to me!
