Some thoughts I wanted to share

Well, this is the beginning of my life....again. For the last 20 years, I have hidden myself, behind the clouds of others; hoping that the Sun would shine through their mist, and bring them closer to, whatever seemed to have evaded me. That all changed for me on April 13th, 2009. Mike Ciro, Gene Perez, Jon Peretz, Emedin Rivera, Al Chez, Kevin Osborne, and Marty Kersich, joined me to reform a wonderful band...".BENNY AND THE SPYDRS".
30 years later, we're still great friends, who have fun, playing and creating music together. It's all about the songs, the groove, the love. 30 years later, the music, the vibe, and the audience, have made the connection. We always had that, but the industry was following trends, years ago,as it always does.

Now," IT" has made the connection The 'IT", that I am talking about, is me. Wanting stardom, is not what I was put here, on earth for. It's about the work; the process of creation, that needs to be respected,enjoyed, and nurtured. I finally got it! The amount of energy one expels when you allow toxicity to invade your space, is a travesty. Do you have any more moments to waste? You know, I don't! .

Working again in that environment, has opened the door, that I have been afraid to open for so many years. In April, my band, " BENNY AND THE SPYDRS", brought back the energy that is so NEW YORK! I had friends that I hadn't seen for years stopping by,getting "ARACHINAFUCNKIFIED" ~ together again!!!There was a real sense of unity...Hell, Will Lee and Charley Drayton, even stopped down to play with us.

Now I have Management (ROB GLAUBMAN AND ASSOCIATES), a publicist ( KATHY HORN of ROADRUNNER TALENT AND MEDIA) and my songs being put out there....Will sang that army commercial. BE ALL YOU CAN BE. That says it all. There's a lot of music,performing and creating to do.....film, theater, concerts, inspiring and helping others, to see and feel their potential: and it is attracting some wonderful situations. Director,choreographer and producer, MARIA TORRES, has a new project that will perform in London, this September. Lookout England, we're going to turn it out!

Just played and performed,at WEBSTER-HALL,with the ZO2 Band, and recorded on their latest CD. They also appear on the IFC Channel, with a show called "Z ROCK". Funny as hell.... A day in the lives of 3 band members trying to making ends meet and doing whatever it takes, to follow and focus on their dream. Wonderful guys! We also had the honor of playing with John Popper, from Blues Traveler while we were at Webster Hall. A great guy who plays a great harp!

I also had a great gig with THE ALEXIS P SUTER BAND, actually, it was two gigs....one at Sullivan Hall, in NYC, and the other up in Hartford, Connecticut at BLACKEYED SALLY'S BLACK AND BLUE FESTIVAL. I got to play on a great A 100 Hammond with a 422 Leslie Speaker. It was killin!!!!!!

I look out at the sky, and even as gray and rainy as it is, I feel very happy to be alive. One year ago, due to a degenerative hip, I was a cripple, with no hope. Today, I am getting myself together for another" BENNY AND THE SPYDRS", show Monday at The Bitter End 10 PM in New York city. Today, I have realized my purpose, and intend on walking hard to its conclusion.
