Thanks Sandy! My grandfather and Manny were first cousins. My dad who is now gone was second cousins with Henry and I am third cousins with Holly, Ian and Judd. I remember going to Manny's as a kid with my grandfather and I remember the shop being such an ICON when I was growing up.
Thanks Sandi. I googled and the NING instructions don't quite match reality. I pick the file on my computer to upload and it is then listed in the profile pic area. But there is no upload button. At the bottom of the page is a SAVE button, which I tried, but it has no effect. Anyway, no bog deal. Thanks for getting back. I don't know when you started this site but I just found it yesterday and it has generated tons of great memories!!
I never shopped at the original Manny's Music Store, but I have read all about it and am a big fan of all the folks who did shop there in the hey days of Greenwitch Village, Beatlemania, and the return of Elvis. I did visit the store and have a Manny's Music tee shirt when my wife and I visited NYC to see Sir Paul McCartney at Citi Field a couple years ago. We had a great time in NWC! The Manny's Music vibe can still be found in an equivalent store in the "second city" at the Chicago Music Exchange. That is where I get all of my gear! Best regards, Dave. P.S. I think this is a great website.

Ah yes. . . Henry. Always a hot experience for me at Manny's.It was there in the 70's (Harry with albums and Tom on tv with Make a Wish), that he referenced me as the "no-talent Chapin" one occasion while Tom and I were shopping there - it was actually very funny at the time, a Rodney Dangerfield moment. But for the next two decades, every time I would drop $5K a pop for PA equipment, TEAC recorders, ADAT machines, Mackie boards, outboard gear,…See More
